Geneva: Drink-driver stops to purchase highway permit

GENEVA, Switzerland – This could be a case of extreme responsibility, or extreme drunkenness. A French woman, 46, was arrested on the evening of 6 January after stopping -voluntarily- at the Bardonnex customs point of entry to purchase a Swiss highway permit or vignette… while clearly intoxicated.

According to Geneva’s cantonal police, officers noticed she smelled of alcohol and gave her a breathalyzer test.

Police reports indicate the woman’s blood alcohol concentration was 1.81, more than three times the Swiss legal limit of 0.05.

The woman resisted arrest and threatened officers to call on her buddies so they could “break their faces.”
