Rihanna might not know it but here in Geneva this weekend, one will finally learn her “true story”.
We are talking contemporary Shakespeare during the La Batie arts festival in Geneva.
According to organizers, Marielle Pinsard’s “adaptation of King Lear features a tyrannical father, daughters who will do anything to bribe their father, and Rihanna, lost in the middle of a maze. Shakespeare hooks up with the queen of R’n’B where Elizabethan times rub shoulders with the 21st century !” More information on times and place here.
Of course Rihanna is not the only arty thing happening: contemporary dance, alternative music for children and dancing take place during La Batie until 13 September. Check out their programme here.
La Ville est a vous neighborhood flea market this weekend takes place behind the Charmilles Mall (think 15mins north of the train station, or the Place des Nations, 10 mins from Servette):
- 6-7 September: Europe
- 13-14 September: Champel
- 20-21 September: Saint-Gervais
- 27-28 September: Pâquis
- 4-5 October: Eaux-Vives
In addition, the Knie circus continues its run in the heart of the city of Geneva. Head to Plainpalais and turn kid for a while.
Enjoy!
