GENEVA – Game was on this afternoon at the Stade de Genève where two small countries with large Eurocup football dreams faced each other off in a friendly. Unfortunately for Switzerland, it fell 2-1 to Belgium just a few minutes before the end of the game.
Xherdan Shaqiri, the Swiss footballer star leading the national squad was hoping for Euro 2016 glory but instead the squad lost the home game.
The Swiss have been drawn against Romania, Albania and France and could progress to the round of 16.
Belgium had based their training camp in Lausanne as they prepared to face their Swiss opponents in Geneva.
