GENEVA, Switzerland —  A bicyclist crossing a wooden footbridge near Nant du Petit Saint-Loup in the commune of Versoix, died after falling to a waterway on Wednesday 10 May. Police are now seeking witnesses to determine what happened.

The man, 56, was riding alone shortly before 16:00 in the Bois de Machefer on the chemin de Villars, when he crossed the wooden walkway.

For an unknown reason the man fell to the waterway where he later died of his injuries.

Police ask anyone with information to call +41 22 427 64 50.

This is the third fatal road accident in the canton in 2017.
