GENEVA, Switzerland – Spending New Year’s Eve in Geneva and not wanting to celebrate it at home? Here’s what’s on —and free— during the last eve of 2014 on the streets of Geneva.
The 2014-2015 celebration will consist of not one but three large popular fêtes or reveillons, plus several smaller ones in neighborhoods around the city, each with its own “theme.”
Jonction — Palladium and adjoining square — From 18:00-3:00 — Theme: “a magical atmosphere built around water”
Featuring: DJs, food and drink stalls. In addition, a free masked ball will take place at the Palladium.
The jazz band Big Bang Dardagny Russin will play from 22:00-24:00, then it is up to DJs to entertain the crowd until 3:00.
Sécheron — Rue du Valais — From 13:30-3:00 — Theme: Sports and Families
Starting at 13:30 the Rue du Valais – not far from the UN – is closed to traffic. A roller blade track and fair stands will be set under the bridge, many of them for kids.
