GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Geneva-born basketballer Clint Capela has been drafted – 25th overall – by the NBA in the USA last month and could soon play for the Houston Rockets.
The 20-year-old who stands at 2.07m is under current contract in France which will delay his playing in the US, said Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey, who also commented that details on his contract have to be worked out through FIBA the International Basketball Federation.
Capela who is also a member of the Swiss basketball team, says his fellow compatriot Thabo Sefolosha has already given him some pointers about life in the NBA.
Capela says the main difference for him will be that at the “NBA everyone is tall, everyone is fast”. (See full interview here).
The young player says he hopes to improve his post moves, midrange shot and overall strength to better handle the physical nature of the league’s interior play.
