GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Suffering of World Cup blues? Fear no more as two of Europe’s best football clubs meet in Geneva this Wednesday 8 August at 20:00 at a friendly that promises to be a pre-season blowout.
FC Barcelona meets S.S.C. Napoli in a game that according to the Spanish club “will be a good test for the team as it prepares for the new season.”
Napoli said Higuain, Henrique and Andujar are back on the field “as scheduled” after the three Azzurri players underwent athletic tests. The Italian squad also carried out a “technical-tactical workout and a training match,” on Monday 4 August.
Juan Camilo Zúñiga – the controversial Colombian footballer who kneed the back of Brazil’s star striker Neymar – who plays for Naples is also scheduled to be in Geneva. Previously, Napoli defended their Colombia full-back in response to criticism following the injury that ended Neymar’s World Cup participation.
Barcelona says the full team will be in Geneva on Wednesday including Lionel Messi but not Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior who is still recuperating.
Tickets are available at the Stade de Genève and Ticketcorner and run between 100 and 200 francs.
