- 17-31 January: Human Rights Film Festival in Haute Savoie, France.
- 20 January: Giselle. Ballet, ages 8 and up. In Monthey.
- 20 January: Charlie Winston, in Annecy.
- 22-31 January: Black Movie film festival. Independent films from all over the world; includes some films for kids as well.
- 28 January: Tom Waits alternative hommage. A bizarre tribute band mixes theatre, music and a whole lot of coolness.
- 28 January: Jazz concert at the Batiment des forces motrices.
- 29 January: ballet, the Nutcracker by the Russian National Opera.
- 29 Jan-14 Feb: Antigel Festival. The coolest of all francophone alternative fests in Geneva. Concerts, exhibits, performance art, mapping, roller disco… even wine tasting.

- 17 January: Le Motet de Genève.
- 21 January: The Symphony Orchestra of India, the only Indian classical music orchestra in concert in Geneva.
- 24 January: Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
- 30 January: Yodel Alphüttli concert in Carouge.

- 16 Jan-26 Feb: Geneve-Servette hockey team plays at home. Puck and black eyes not included.
- 23 Jan & 6 Feb: Disco on Ice. This is teen (& young adults) central.
- 23 January: Antigel Run. Part of the Antigel Festival.
- 25 January: Try out for the GS cheerleading squat!
- 29 Jan-14 Feb: Antigel Festival. Check some of the sporting/alternative activities in offer.
- 30-31 January: Swiss youth table tennis championship.
- 30-31 January: Water Polo tournament at Piscine des Vernets.
- Until February: Ice skating around Lake Geneva.
- 20 February: Full moon snowshoeing.
