GENEVA, Switzerland – Switzerland has experienced the third warmest November on record since 1864, announced the Swiss meteorological office, MeteoSwiss.
According to federal office, November’s temperatures were 2.6C above those registered between 1981 and 2010.
The two warmest Novembers occurred in 1994 with 3.3C above normal, and in 2014 with 3.1C.
No blues this past November? It might have been the mighty Sun; November was the second sunniest on record since 1961, when MeteoSwiss began to record measurements.
Just two days ago, the Geneva-based World Meteorological Organisation’s (WMO), said in its state of the global climate report, that climate change made the 2011-2015 period, the warmest five-year on record.
Thanks to warmer temperatures and longer stretches of sunnier days, spring flowers were still found at above 1,000 metres.
