GENEVA – After two fatal fires occurred within a matter of hours on 1 January, he city of Geneva has been hit by a third blaze, this one in the St Jean neighborhood.
According to firefighters, the fire started in the fourth floor of a building on Rue Daubin 22 at around 18:00 but it wasn’t until 19:00 when police warned citizens to stay clear of the area.
Over 25 residents had to be evacuated and while at least two were taken to the local hospital for smoke inhalation there are no major injuries reported.
